Common-Law Admission Test (CLAT)

Common-Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the most coveted of all the law entrances in India after Class XII. CLAT journey started in 2008 and today more than 45,000 students write the exam every year to secure a seat in one of the participating National Law University including NLSIU Bangalore-the Harvard of the East.

CLAT is conducted every year to select students for 22 National Law Universities in India, other than National Law University, Delhi, which conducts its own entrance test (AILET), to select the students.

CLAT Score is also accepted by other law schools including NMIMS- Mumbai, UPES-Dehradun, and Institute of Law, Nirma University-Ahmedabad, to name a few.

Eligibility:

  • To be eligible for CLAT, the candidates must have secured:
    (a) Forty-five percent (45%) marks in Qualifying Exam (Class XII or equivalent) in case of candidates belonging to Unreserved /OBC /Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and other categories.
    (b) Forty Percent (40%) marks in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST categories.
  • candidates who are appearing in the qualifying examination in March/April are also eligible for appearing in CLAT online examination. However, they shall be required to produce evidence of their passing the qualifying examination at the time of admission, failing which they shall lose their right to be considered for admission.
  • The result of qualifying examination (i.e., 10+2) shall be submitted by the candidate at the time of admission failing which the candidate shall be ineligible for admission to the Course.

Syllabus:

CLAT shall be conducted in online mode where the paper will have 200 questions from five different subjects – General English, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability), Legal Aptitude and Logical Reasoning.

Scope and coverage of questions under different subject areas:


English including comprehension: The English section will test the candidates’ proficiency in English, based on comprehension passages and grammar. In the comprehension section, candidates will be questioned on their understanding of the passage and its central theme, meanings of words used therein, etc. The grammar section requires the correction of incorrect grammatical sentences, filling of blanks in sentences with appropriate words, etc.


General Knowledge and Current Affairs: The General knowledge will be tested on general awareness including static general knowledge. Questions on current affairs will test candidates on their knowledge of national and international current affairs.


Mathematics: This section will test a candidate’s knowledge on elementary mathematics, i.e., Maths taught up to 10th Class/standard.


Legal Aptitude: This section will test the candidate’s interest in the study of law, research aptitude and problem-solving ability. Questions may include legal propositions (described in the paper), and a set of facts to which the said proposition must be applied. Some propositions may not be “true” in the real sense, candidates will have to assume the “truth” of these propositions and answer the questions accordingly.


Logical Reasoning: The purpose of the logical reasoning section is to test the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It may include a variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, series, coding-decoding, directions, etc. However, visual reasoning is generally not tested.

NEET (UG) (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test)

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test or NEET (UG) will be conducted by NTA from 2019 onwards. Intermediate graduates (10+2) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks can apply online at nta.ac.in.

NEET form correction window is open on the official website. Enter registration and password to edit the filled-in application.

This year, the examination is scheduled for May 5 in offline (pen-paper) mode. Medical aspirants must note that the responsibility of NTA will be limited to the conduct of entrance exams, declaration of NEET Result and providing All India Rank to the Directorate General Health Services, Government of India.

Dayanand Sagar Admission Test or DSAT

This is a university-level entrance exam organized by Dayanand Sagar University (DSU). It is held for admission to various UG and PG programs in DSU DSAT 2019 will be conducted from April 27 to 28 and May 4, 5, 25 and 26, 2019 in both online/offline mode.

The minimum eligibility for UG courses is 10+2 exam or any equivalent exam. The Online DSAT will be held simultaneously in 82 cities across India.

The type of questions asked in the examination is of Objective-based multiple-choice questions. There will be no negative marking for wrong answers.

Indraprastha University Common Entrance Test (IPU CET)

This is a university-level entrance exam for admission to UG & PG courses in engineering, medical, dental, law, and management. Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is the organizing body.

IPUCET  for all programmes are usually scheduled between April 21- May 20. IPU CET Exam Pattern and Syllabus varies course-wise. However, the exam is conducted in offline mode for all.

  • Nationality- Indian
  • Minimum qualification for UG course- 10+2 board examination or equivalent exam
  • Minimum qualification for PG course- Graduation
  • Age limit for UG course- Not be more than 21 years or less than 18 years

How to Apply for IPU CET?

  1. Visit the official website of IP university 
  2. Click on the link “IPU CET Registration”.
  3. Select the exam category from the given choices.
  4. Enter the required credentials i.e. personal details and academic details.
  5. Upload photograph and signatures of file size less than 80 kb. File must be in JPG, JPEG or GIF format.
  6. Select the course and Test center.
  7. Upon submission, you will receive a system-generated log in id and password on your id.
  8. Pay the application fee of INR 1000.

IPU CET 2019 Exam Pattern for BBA

The paper is divided into four sections. Questions are asked from English, General Awareness, Logical Reasoning and Management Aptitude. IPU CET for BBA comprises 150 objective type questions to be solved within 2.5 hours.

Candidates who wish to seek admission to B. Tech course must have completed their secondary education in science stream. IPU CET for B. Tech shall test candidate’s aptitude based on Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The division of marking is equal i.e. 33% in IPU CET for B. Tech.

The paper has 35 questions from Logical Reasoning, 40 questions from Language Comprehension, 25 questions from General Awareness and 50 questions from Data Interpretation.
